History
Since 2002, Arabic was being first taught optionally to students of Turkic Studies at the National University of Mongolia. Then, since 2010 the Arabic Studies of the Department of Asian Studies at the National University of Mongolia has been preparing first specialists in “Arabic language and Area studies” and currently offers programs at undergraduate and graduate levels. The first batch of the undergraduates with a major in Arabic language and Area Studies graduated in 2014.
Present actions
The National University of Mongolia is the first and only university which offers a complete program of Arabic Language and Arabic Area Studies. So it should be noted that the demand for specialists and personnel in this field is growing steadily in the labor market. Currently, bachelor/master/doctoral degree programs in Arabic Language, Arabic Area Studies and Translation Studies are offered.
